Airport Parking Charges – Cheapest and Most Expensive:

Spending time abroad shouldn’t be overshadowed by the worry that you might come back to a large parking charge. According to our data, the cheapest airport to park your car in, while you’re away for the week, is Edinburgh Airport.

Sam said, “To find the cheapest place for you to park, we looked at the charge for a 7-day parking stay across the 20 largest airports in the UK.

“If you’re planning to fly abroad, you may have to pay for parking while away. The cheapest airport for parking is Edinburgh Airport, with the most expensive being over 300 miles away at London City Airport.

“A 7-day stay in Edinburgh Airport car park will cost £39.99 -just 24% of what you’d spend if you parked at London City Airport.”

Coming in second for budget-friendly parking is Cardiff International Airport at £50.99.

Scotland tops the list as the most budget-friendly country for airport parking in the UK, with Aberdeen Dyce Airport and Glasgow International Airport coming in joint third with a cost of £57.99 each.

London is the priciest place to park when you’re flying abroad, with three of the five most expensive airport parking charges on our list.

London City Airport will set you back £164.34 for a 7-day parking stay, with Heathrow and Gatwick also near the top of the list at £123.40 and £106.00 respectively.

Other airports that are relatively expensive to park at are Birmingham and Bristol, costing £99.99 and £99 respectively for seven days - more than £14 a day. In contrast, you’d only be spending an average of £5.71 a day to park in Edinburgh for seven days.

So, if you’re planning a week abroad soon, you’ll want to set some extra pennies aside for your parking charges. If you’re flying from England, you’ll need to sacrifice a bit more of your spending money than if you choose to fly from Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland.
