Citroen C3 models explained
Which is the best Citroen C3 model?
Citroen C3 models: full list
Citroen C3 YOU!
Kicking off the list is the Citroen C3 YOU! – the base spec and therefore the cheapest option you can buy.
This is a true no-nonsense spec that gets you all the essentials you’d need from a small French car.
It comes with steel wheels, cloth seats and a five-inch touchscreen with DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
It's not as sparse as a Citroen AMI. Instead, it’s a great example of the essence of what this class of car is all about – easy to live with and cheap fun.
Citroen C3 Plus
Citroen’s mid-range C3 model is called the ‘Plus’ and this gets everything found in the YOU! plus a few creature comforts like 16-inch alloys, electric folding mirrors, a reversing camera, a seven-inch infotainment screen and electric mirrors.
Citroen C3 Max
The top-spec C3 model is the one to go for if you’re happy to stretch your budget a bit further for a lot more features.
The wheels get bumped up to 17 inches, and you get Citroen’s Safety Pack with added driver assistance features, a leather steering wheel and a built-in sat-nav.
Previous Citroen C3 trim levels
The above three trims are currently available for new Citroen C3s, but previous models are still on the used car market in these trims:
C-Series
The C3 C-Series includes a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus plenty of soft-touch leather effect interior details that give it a classy vibe.
It was a mid-range trim level that you can find great deals for on the used market.
Elle
The C3 Elle trim ramps things up a bit with larger 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, a Silver Blue colour pack, and an exclusive Elle Cherry Pink fog light surround.
Feel
The C3 Feel was all about styling touches to stand out from the crowd. As well as the standard kit, these models can be found with black, red or white roofs, and gloss black door mirrors.
Flair
The Flair edition builds on the Feel models with an additional leather steering wheel and gear knob, plus roof-coloured door mirrors and fog surround.
There are also reversing cameras and rear parking sensors to add function to the form.
Sense
The Sense trim was an entry-level offering that features all the standard features. This includes the seven-inch touchscreen with smartphone mirroring, and power folding mirrors.
It also had safety features like lane departure warning and speed sign recognition.
Shine
The C3 Shine builds on the Sense, with automatic lights and wipers, rear parking sensors, and an Onyx Black roof.
There are also the ‘Shine Plus’ models – featuring larger 17-inch wheels, rear tinted windows, and Citroen Connect Nav.
What is the best Citroen C3 model?
Choosing the best C3 model depends on exactly what you’re after. If you want the best Citroen has to offer, go for the top-spec C3 Max.
But if you really don’t need that much and just need a trusty car to get you from A to B, the base-spec YOU! is ideal.
The mid-range C3 Plus is probably the best option for most people. You get a comfortable middle ground between the two other models, with enough kit that you won’t be left wanting.
