How big is the Kia Rio's boot space?

Want to snap up one of the world’s trendiest superminis but aren’t quite sure if it offers enough space?

What’s there not to like about the supermini Kia Rio?

Despite being quite popular around the world, it doesn’t always get the love it deserves here in the UK – but why?

As well as being very reasonably priced, the Kia Rio offers high levels of equipment, sophisticated mechanics and smart looks.

In terms of spaciousness, it scores pretty well too. It’s certainly not the biggest Kia option on the market, but it still offers drivers and passengers good head and legroom.

As for the boot, it will give you enough room to carry shopping bags and two or three medium-sized suitcases.

What are the Kia Rio's boot dimensions?

The Kia Rio is available in three- and five-door hatchbacks, with mature and confident interior designs.

Boot space is more than sufficient for those who don’t have large families. For those who do need extra space for bulky luggage or sports equipment, you can always fold down the rear seats.

Kia Rio dimensions:

  • Rear load width: 1,518mm

  • Boot capacity with seats upright: 325l

  • Boot capacity with seats folded: 1,103l

How big is the Kia Rio's boot?

For a supermini, the Rio’s boot capacity is roughly average.

With the rear seats kept upright, this model will provide you with 325 litres of space – more than enough to allow you to carry around your essentials.

To drastically extend your boot capacity to accommodate larger loads, all you need to do is pop down those back seats. You’ll then have 1,103 litres of space, which – for a supermini – is quite remarkable!

So, if you’re off on holiday with your partner or best friend, the Rio will give you plenty of room to store your luggage.

This way, you can hit the road without leaving your favourite outfits behind.

How many seats are in a Kia Rio?

All Kia Rio models provide seating for up to five passengers, with two standard seats at the front and a three-seat bench at the back.

Three-door models are not as popular anymore and have been slowly phased out, but if you rarely have passengers on board and are quite keen on older cars, three-door Rios are good value on the used market.
