Thanks to its nimble handling and eager engines, the Kia Soul is a fun car to drive – but how big is its boot?

article hero

If you’re looking for an SUV to drive you around town with style and confidence, the Kia Soul is a great option.

It’s cool, smart and soulful – and it’s spacious too, so your passengers can sit back and relax as you cruise along country lanes and through city streets.

The Kia Soul is also great to handle and easy to control. There’s also a button on the steering wheel you can press to vary its weighting, allowing you to change it to your preference.

With plenty of space at the back for your fellow travellers to enjoy, the boot is big enough to hold your daily essentials, and its square shape makes lifting objects in and out a piece of cake.

What are the Kia Soul's boot dimensions?

With chunky styling and a high-driving position, the Kia Soul has appealing features that sets it apart from its rivals.

It’s also available as a petrol, diesel or fully-electric model, so there's something for every driver.

You can also pick an automatic or a classic manual, so you’re truly spoilt for choice!

When it comes to boot space, the ‘traditional’ Kia Soul and the all-electric Kia Soul EV vary slightly in size.

If you’re undecided which is best for you, take some time to read the numbers.

Kia Soul dimensions (petrol and diesel models):

  • Boot width: 1,780mm

  • Boot capacity with seats upright: 354l

  • Boot capacity with seats folded: 1,367l

Kia Soul EV dimensions (all-electric model):

  • Boot width: 1,780mm

  • Boot capacity with seats upright: 281l

  • Boot capacity with seats folded: 891l

If you need a bigger boot for long journeys and family trips, then the petrol and diesel Kia Soul models would be the better choice for you.

How big is a Kia Soul's boot?

With 354 litres of space regardless of whether you pick the petrol or diesel version, the boot of the standard KIA Soul is roomier than its electric counterpart because of the Soul EV's battery pack.

A figure of 281 litres with the seats upright isn’t bad at all, but it might be a bit tight if you have a large family. If you need extra space on top of that, you may want to steer towards the standard KIA Soul.

Likewise, when you pop the back seats down, the Soul is significantly more spacious, boasting 1,367 litres compared to the Soul EV's 891 litres, which isn't helped by the fact that its rear seats don’t fold completely flat, unlike most cars.

How many seats are there in a Kia Soul?

All Kia Soul variants provide seating for up to five, with two standard seats at the front and a three-seat bench at the back.

As well as offering passengers plenty of space to stretch and relax, the Soul comes with good stowage space throughout the cabin.

This includes a large glovebox, large front-door bins and a deep central cubby locker.
