Mercedes-Benz GLA boot space

Good looks and great driveability – the Mercedes-Benz GLA ticks all the boxes. But what about its boot space?

a red Mercedes GLA driving in a town

Mercedes-Benz never disappoints. The Mercedes-Benz GLA is an SUV that’s compact, stylish and easy to drive, allowing you to cruise around town in comfort and style.

With raised suspension, the GLA is about 6cm taller than the iconic Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and some of its models feature large roof bars that add to its off-road aesthetic.

If you’re off on an adventure, you can pop your surfboard or snowboard up there and hit the road readily equipped.

In terms of cabin space, the Mercedes-Benz GLA offers plenty of room to stretch and relax – especially at the front!

It also comes with air-con, reversing camera and automatic emergency braking.

Boot space is very generous too – from shopping bags to suitcases and holiday essentials, the Mercedes-Benz GLA will carry pretty much anything you need.

What are the Mercedes-Benz GLA boot dimensions?

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is available as both a fuel-powered (200, 200d, 220d and 45) and plug-in hybrid (250e) option.

Boot space varies slightly, so it’s good to keep this in mind if you need that little extra room to accommodate your large family or fit bulky sports equipment.

That said, the measurements of most petrol and diesel models tend to be aligned, with the exception of the GLA 45.

Mercedes-Benz GLA 200, 200d, 220d and 45 dimensions

  • Boot width: 1,050mm

  • Boot capacity with seats upright: 485 litres

  • Boot capacity with seats folded: 1,420 litres

Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 dimensions

  • Boot width: 1,050mm

  • Boot capacity with seats upright: 495 litres

  • Boot capacity with seats folded: 1,430 litres

Mercedes-Benz GLA plug-in hybrid dimensions (250e)

  • Boot width: 1,050mm

  • Boot capacity with seats upright: 445 litres

  • Boot capacity with seats folded: 1,385 litres

So, if you’re after a more spacious boot, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 could be the right choice for you.

If you’d rather opt for a more sustainable car, the GLA 250e will still give you ample room to carry all your essentials.

How big is a Mercedes-Benz GLA's boot?

The boot capacity of a fuel-powered Mercedes-Benz starts at a generous 485 litres with the seats upright.

If that’s not enough for your large load, its in-cabin room can extend to 1,420 litres (or 1,430 litres if you have a GLA 45) when the seats are folded down.

The plug-in hybrid 250e model has its batteries stored beneath the boot floor, meaning that with all the seats up, capacity is reduced to 445 litres.

Don’t worry, though – you’ll still be able to fit your family food shopping with no fuss!

The good thing about all Mercedes-Benz GLA models is that they have plenty of storage bins and cubby holes scattered around the cabin, so you’ll always have loads of space to put your belongings!

How many seats are in a Mercedes-Benz GLA?

All Mercedes-Benz GLA models provide seating for up to five passengers, with two standard seats at the front and a three-seat bench at the back.

The GLA is so comfortable that if you’ve quickly jumped from the sofa to your car seat, you’ll barely notice the difference!
