Mercedes-Benz C-Class boot space

For a compact executive car, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has some versatile options. Do they all offer practical boot space?

If you’re looking for a compact executive car, you can’t get any more sleek and high-quality than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Light and quick, it’s an absolute joy to drive and boasts impressive fuel efficiency – 40mpg, in fact.

When you get behind the wheel, you’re welcomed by a comfortable interior. Fine leather upholstery and a silver trim offer nothing but luxury – but it’s a Merc, what else did you expect?

With petrol, diesel and hybrid options available, you can pick which suits your lifestyle the best. Plus, you’ve got the option of a five-door estate, four-door saloon and even a two-door coupé.

How big is a Mercedes C-Class boot?

Whether you drive for personal use or strictly business, there’s plenty of room for whatever you’re travelling with. With more than 400 litres available across each model of the C-Class, you’ll have loads of room. Whether it’s your overnight luggage or weekly food shop, it should fit comfortably.

It’s worth noting that if you choose the saloon version of the C-Class, it’s not as easy to load bulky or long items due to the lip on the boot access. Instead of sliding items in, you’ll have to place them into the boot, so if you think you’ll be transporting bulkier items regularly, the estate version might be your best bet.

Mercedes-Benz cars come with split folding rear seats, and the C-Class has a 40/20/40 ratio as standard. This means that if you need extra room for larger items, folding down the seats will give you that option.

What are the Mercedes C-Class's boot dimensions?

  • Maximum luggage capacity (seats up): 460 litres

  • Maximum luggage capacity (seats down): 1,510 litres

  • Maximum boot width: 1,011mm

Mercedes-Benz C-Class four-door saloon dimensions

  • Maximum luggage capacity (seats up): 455 litres

  • Maximum luggage capacity (seats down): 1,335 litres

Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe dimensions

  • Maximum luggage capacity (seats down): 1,280 litres

The plug-in hybrid version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class’s boot space is slightly smaller due to the battery occupying some of the space. Four-wheel drive models can also have varying capacities.

How many seats are in a Mercedes C-Class?

The four- and five-door versions of the C-Class all have five seats as standard, while the two-door editions have four.

If you’re looking for a model with a little more legroom, the estate offers more space than the saloon, so make sure you’re putting your taller friends and family in the front passenger seats. The rear seats are most comfortable for children and shorter passengers.

This perfect family car has ISOFIX points installed for easy child car seat installation so if you’re travelling with little ones, they can be seated safely.
