Mercedes-Benz EQC boot space

The Mercedes-Benz EQC looks like something straight out of a movie. It’s sleek, stylish, and completely electric - but what does the boot deliver in terms of size?

Mercedes EQC

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is the fully electric version of the popular Mercedes-Benz GLE.

This should give you a good indication of the type of luxury and performance you can expect from your own used Mercedes-Benz EQC.

It’s a popular SUV that promises the same sleek looks and fancy features as its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling.

Expect classic characteristics like the well-loved coupé body style, clever infotainment system, and man-made leather upholstery.

This car is completely electric and is therefore kinder to the environment. It even comes with Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

This car pretty much made history for the brand. As Mercedes-Benz’s first mainstream electric vehicle, the EQC did well to put the German luxury car firmly on the EV map.

Mercedes-Benz claims a maximum range of 244 and 255 miles on a single charge.

While this is slightly behind our used BMW iX3 models (up to 285 miles) it’s still roughly enough to drive from London to Durham.

If you have access to a rapid charger, you can top-up the battery from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes.

What are the Mercedes-Benz EQC boot dimensions?

This mid-size SUV talks the talk, and it can walk the walk too.

Although its boot is slightly smaller than the Mercedes-Benz GLE (not uncommon in electric vehicles), it remains one of the SUVs with the largest boot space.

If you’re travelling with passengers and need all five seats, you still have a boot space that’s 500 litres in size.

That’s bigger than the Hyundai i30 Fastback (450 litres) and the Volvo XC40 (460 litres).

Need more space? That’s not a problem if you’re only travelling with one other person.

At the press of a button, you can fold the rear seats down and boost your boot space to 1,060 litres.

Mercedes-Benz EQC boot dimensions

  • Boot capacity (rear seats upright): 500 litres

  • Boot capacity (rear seats folded): 1,060 litres

  • Boot length: 2,467mm

  • Boot width: 1,440mm

  • Boot height: 750mm

The EQC boot is nicely trimmed with carpet both on the floor and the sides, and with no lip in the way, it makes for easy loading too.

The EQC is quite generous when it comes to storage options inside the vehicle, including a glovebox, door bins, and a centre console to store small items like your phone and sunglasses.

Perhaps surprisingly, the EQC doesn’t feature a front boot like many other electric cars.

Some may see this as a disadvantage, but Mercedes’ reasoning makes sense.

Manufacturing the EQC without a front boot (lovingly called a ‘frunk’ by our friends across the pond) creates ease in production.

By integrating electric models into existing production lines, Mercedes-Benz plants are instantly ready to adapt their production lines for all types of models. This includes hybrid and electric powertrains.

How big is the Mercedes-Benz EQC boot?

Even with the seats up, you can fit a decent amount of luggage in the Mercedes-Benz EQC boot.

For example, the available 500 litres would allow for two large suitcases as well as a couple of smaller bags.

If you need to transport larger and bulkier items, such as furniture or trade tools, you can fold down the rear seats.

The extended 1,060 litres of space is roughly enough room for three medium-sized suitcases, 10 large shopping bags or six bicycles. Certainly not bad when it comes to generous boot space.

How many seats are in a Mercedes-Benz EQC?

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a compact SUV so isn't the biggest model available.

For maximum room, you should look at a family SUV or midsize SUV.

Despite being a compact SUV, the EQC can comfortably fit five passengers in all five seats.

Thanks to its roomy interior and clever design, the rear seats can comfortably accommodate three adults, making for a pleasant and relaxing trip.

The driver’s seat is quite high up, so the level of visibility is ideal for nipping around town or along country lanes.

Taking kids along for the ride? The outer rear seats feature ISOFIX child car seat mounting points, so you can be sure that they're travelling safely and securely.
