Peugeot 5008 boot space: how big and how wide?
Stylish, comfy and full of tech, the Peugeot 5008 knows how to stand out from the crowd. But how does the size of its boot measure up?
With so many reliable and striking SUVs on the market, it’s difficult to pick a favourite option.
But when it comes to making the final choice, a used Peugeot 5008 is never a bad idea.
This model is held in high regard – in fact, the 5008 was a finalist for the World Car of the Year award in 2018.
It was also named ‘Used Seven-Seater of the Year’ at the What Car? Used Car of the Year Awards 2023, and was awarded overall ‘Used Car of the Year’ in 2022.
Judges praised the car for its “excellent value for money when bought used, stylish and practical interior design, and comfortable driving experience for both drivers and passengers”.
It's got the looks, it's great to drive and it's equipped with brilliant tech including infotainment units - what more could you want?
There's also the opportunity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, which will make your daily journeys a breeze.
In terms of space, it certainly ticks a lot of boxes. The Peugeot 5008 has an extremely accommodating boot capacity that will fit most bulky loads, from camping equipment to pieces of furniture.
What are the Peugeot 5008 boot dimensions?
The Peugeot 5008 features a few inviting trim levels, including Allure, GT Premium and Active.
They all have their own features, and the newer models even come with a Peugeot i-Cockpit system and multi-function steering wheel.
One of the main benefits of the i-Cockpit system is that the instrument cluster is mounted high up on the dashboard, which allows drivers to check all they need without taking their eyes off the road.
Something that may take a bit to get used to is the 5008’s small, low-set steering wheel, which is around the same size as a medium pizza.
But again, this is all in favour of better visibility, allowing the driver to simply peer over the top of the steering wheel to view the instruments.
The boot size of a Peugeot 5008 is pretty aligned across all trim levels. You can get the most space out of it when it’s in five-seater mode (as opposed to when all seven seats are in place).
Peugeot 5008 seven-seater dimensions
Boot width: 1,050mm
Boot capacity (all seven seats upright): 167 litres
Boot capacity (five seats upright): 952 litres
Boot capacity (all rear seats folded): 2,042 litres
It's worth noting that you won’t find a plug-in hybrid option when looking for a Peugeot 5008.
This is because it needs extra space for the rear row of seats, so it cannot squeeze in any batteries.
How big is a Peugeot 5008 boot?
In seven-seater mode, it’s fair to say that the boot of a Peugeot 5008 is a bit tight for space.
A capacity of 167 litres doesn’t leave you much to play with, but it is still sufficient to bring home a week’s worth of food shopping.
In its five-seater version, this large SUV’s generosity knows no bounds. Since the third row of seats drops right into the floor, you’ll benefit from an impressive 952 litres.
This is more than enough to carry sports equipment, large weekly shops, or a set of suitcases for long road trips.
If you need to ferry even bigger loads, such as a flat-pack furniture package up to three metres long, just fold your middle seats – the Peugeot 5008 can extend its capacity to 2,042 litres.
If what you’re carrying is exceptionally long, or you don’t care much for having a front seat passenger, you can fold the front passenger seat too. The 5008 has many neat tricks up its sleeve!
It's worth noting that the middle seats don’t drop into the floor like the third row, so you’ll be left with a bit of a step on the boot floor.
How many seats are in a Peugeot 5008?
As mentioned, the Peugeot 5008 can chauffeur up to seven passengers, so it’s a great SUV for large families.
You can juggle the size of the cargo area because the middle seats are all individual rather than a bench.
Also, the cabin floor is nice and flat, making the seating arrangement extra comfortable.
The middle row offers ample space for travellers to stretch their legs and relax, whereas the two seats at the back are not as roomy.
If you have young kids on board, you can leave them in charge of that final row!
The Peugeot 5008 is equipped with ISOFIX anchor points, meaning you can securely attach your children’s car seats to the rear bench and keep your little passengers safe at all times.
