If you’re on the hunt for a reliable, good-looking hatchback with exceptional build quality and a hint of Latin flair, a used SEAT Leon will do the trick.

With its sleek lines and imposing grille, the SEAT Leon won’t pass unnoticed on your motorway trips or countryside escapes.

In fact, the steering of this SEAT model is positive and responsive, meaning you can cruise along all types of surfaces with confidence and ease.

It’s a very practical car, so it certainly doesn’t lack cabin space. One thing you’ll notice is the back is very spacious for a car of its size; plenty of room for your friends, although three in the rear might be a tight squeeze!

The boot is in line with most hatchback models on the market, offering you more than enough room to ferry all your belongings from one place to the next.

What are the SEAT Leon boot space dimensions?

SEAT models are available with different types of engines, including petrol, diesel and hybrid.

The latest generation was introduced in 2020, and it’s a great option if you tend to use your car for city commutes.

The Leon also comes in various trim levels, such as the FR, FR Sport, SE, SE Dynamic and Xcellence.

Each model has its own characteristics, from detailed aesthetics to advanced technology.

For example, the Xcellence comes with wireless smartphone charging and ambient lighting to create an inviting atmosphere in the cabin.

No matter which trim level you opt for, this won’t affect the SEAT Leon’s boot space.

The only time you’ll notice a significant variation in boot capacity is when comparing a Leon hatchback with a Leon estate.

SEAT Leon hatchback dimensions

  • Load width: 1,005mm circa

  • Boot capacity (rear seats upright): 380 litres

  • Boot capacity (rear seats folded): 1,210 litres

SEAT Leon estate dimensions

  • Load width: 1,040mm circa

  • Boot capacity (rear seats upright): 587 litres

  • Boot capacity (rear seats folded): 1,470 litres

Both models are very practical, providing owners with plenty of room to play around with.

If you want extra space for bulkier loads, however, the Leon estate is probably the car for you.

How big is a SEAT Leon’s boot space?

As mentioned, the boot capacity of SEAT Leon models is generous.

If you opt for the more compact hatchback version, you’ll still benefit from 380 litres of space with all seats kept upright.

That’s more than sufficient for your weekly food shops or to chauffeur your little ones to school, and if you need more room, just fold the rear bench to enjoy 1,210 litres.

There’s a bit of a drop behind the boot lip but once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll be loading your luggage into the Leon’s boot with no trouble.

As for the estate version, you should be able to squeeze in whatever you like.

With 587 litres of space with all seats in place and an impressive 1,470 litres when the rear ones are folded, you won’t have to worry about fitting in everything for your next holiday or camping trip.

How many seats are in a SEAT Leon?

The SEAT Leon has five seats, with two at the front and a three-seat bench at the rear.

All trim levels come with adjustable lumbar support in the front, so its seats are very comfortable too.

The cabin has an incredibly spacious feel and offers passengers ample headroom to unwind on their travels.

It also has ISOFIX child mounting seat points on the outer rear seats, meaning your younger commuters can ride in total safety.

Some models also have an electronic handbrake so you have extra storage room in the centre console for all your in-car essentials.
