2022 Citroen C3 price drops to £12,995
Citroen's C3 becomes a more affordable city car, but it doesn't scrimp on interior tech and safety to achieve it
Citroen is upping the ante in its battle with Ford's Fiesta by launching a cheaper version of the C3 hatchback. The refreshed 2022 model now starts from just £12,995, which - for a brand new car - means it looks like a bit of a bargain. The new entry-level model, named the C3 You, sort of fills the space left by the now discontinued Citroen C1 (albeit as a bigger, five-door model), which has been removed from the production line after 17 years of sales. The C1 started from just over £10k new.
Despite the sub-£13k price, the C3 You isn't short of kit, with cruise control, a 5.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, DAB radio and LED headlights all included. This plucky-looking city car includes an impressive array of safety features, too, with hill-start assistance, lane-departure warning and a speed limiter, as well as a driver attention monitoring system.
The C3 You has a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that provides it with 83hp, and Citroen claims that its base-level car can 54 miles per gallon on the combined cycle (ie. in mixed driving). Not bad. Additionally, the C3 You comes with a soft sand metallic paint as standard, but if you want it in any of the five other colours Citroen offers, you will have to pay slightly more - with the red option on the car pictured here costing an extra £695. Still, at £13,650 all in, that's pretty good going.
That being said, if it's a bargain Citroen you want, you don't even need to leave this website. On cinch, you can get your hands on a lovey C1 from as little as £7,150, with an array of different models and colours on our online showroom here. Handy.
