2025 Dacia Bigster: everything you need to know

The Dacia Bigster is the most anticipated budget SUV of the year, but what is it, and why should you be excited?

Following the success of the Duster, Dacia’s decided to go big or go home with the even larger Bigster – a five-seat rugged SUV aimed at the outdoor enthusiast.

With its boxy looks, strong interior tech and promised affordability, there’s no wonder some of Dacia’s rivals are beginning to worry.

Everything you need to know about the Dacia Bigster

  • Dacia’s biggest SUV yet

  • Hybrid and 4x4 variants available

  • More than 600 litres of boot space

  • Has an optional mini fridge

  • Will likely cost less than £30,000

What does the Dacia Bigster look like?

When the Dacia Bigster concept first appeared in 2021, we all thought, “Surely the real thing won’t look like that, but it would be nice if it did,” and what’s Dacia done? It’s made just that.

In many ways, it takes a lot of inspiration from the existing Dacia Duster with the distinctive modern Dacia logo, LED lines across the front grille and Y-shaped headlights.

As you look around the rest of the now-properly announced Bigster, you can see the sort of look Dacia’s going for, with its boxy design and wider arches much like the ones on the new Toyota Land Cruiser.

If you’re after a chunky SUV in 2025, this may be the one for you.

Inside, the Bigster is just how you’d expect a modern Dacia to look, it’s got rugged, hard-wearing materials throughout, physical buttons and dials, plus a whole host of tech.

Sitting on the dashboard is a 10.1-inch infotainment screen alongside a 10.0-inch digital driver’s display (in higher-spec models). In lower spec models, you can expect to find a similar phone holder arrangement as in the Duster.

This is great if you like using your smartphone’s map apps, but you can also just connect to the car and use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Other options include a sunroof, central mini fridge to keep bottled water cool, dual-zone climate control, fully adjustable seats with lumbar support and much more.

Dacia Bigster dimensions and boot space

Dacia’s paid particular attention to boot space, giving the new Bigster 667 litres. That’s 211 litres more than the Duster and 80 litres more than its Kia Sportage rival.

This is because the Bigster is a bigger car... well, there’s a clue in the name.

New Dacia Duster price and specs

The official trims are yet to be announced but it’s safe to say it’ll follow the same pattern as the Duster – Expression, Extreme and Journey.

This will include a few different changes across the range, with the base model Expression sticking to physical dials and likely no screens, whereas the two higher models will get more bells and whistles.

Official pricing hasn’t yet been announced either, but expect it to start below £30,000, putting it as a very attractive proposition for families and the casual off-road enthusiast.
