New Vauxhall Corsa-e Anniversary Edition marks Nova's 40th
Vauxhall is taking inspiration from the original Nova which was released in 1982
Vauxhall is celebrating 40 years of making superminis by releasing a limited-edition version of the fully-electric Corsa-e. The new model pays homage to the Corsa's predecessor, the Nova, which was introduced way back in 1982 - meaning we’re being treated to an eighties-themed EV!
Just 1,000 Anniversary Editions are being made for us lucky Brits, with each featuring a handful of exclusive touches to mark the occasion. You get ‘Record Red’ paint, said to be inspired by a shade once offered with the original Nova. The grille, badges and roof are all finished in contrasting black, adding to the eighties hot hatch vibe.
To go with the bespoke exterior finish, the seats are finished in a tartan pattern – which is another nod to the original Nova's look. Tartan fans will be thrilled to hear you will receive four pairs of Nova-themed socks which match the interior! If they don’t keep you warm through the colder months, the heated seats and steering wheel are sure to keep you toasty.
Additionally, there's a plaque on the dash with ‘40’, plus each car is individually numbered. Other features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen with sat-nav, DAB radio, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Plus you get the benefit of parking sensors, a rear-view camera and blind spot alert tech. Other safety features include lane-keep assist, speed sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert and automatic emergency city braking… Superminis have come a long way since 1982 - and this one's packing a lot of kit.
This electric car boasts a decent 222 miles of claimed range from its 50kWh battery. And you can top up the battery from 0-80% in just 30 minutes using a 100kW rapid charge point. You will be able to 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds thanks to the 136hp motor, making it properly peppy - and befitting of the Nova-Corsa lineage.
The Corsa-e Anniversary Edition is only available to buy online, where it's listed at £31,000. But you needn't fork out that much for a taste of the Nova's youngest sibling; we have plenty of used Corsa-e models available to purchase on our site.
