What is the Audi TT S line?

While TTS and TT RS models have a lot of appeal, they can be expensive to run and cost a lot in insurance.

A used Audi TT S line promises all of the sporty style you could wish for from a small coupé, but it’s a model that you can genuinely use every single day of the week without racking up endless bills.

S line was introduced halfway through the second-generation model’s time on sale, so you can pick from these or newer third-generation cars.

What are the Audi TT S line specs?

Besides the 160hp and 180hp versions of Audi’s slightly older 1.8-litre petrol engine, you’ll notice that any other Audi TT S Line for sale comes with a 2.0-litre engine.

The most common is the 197hp 40 TFSI, but 245hp 45 TFSI engines promise even quicker acceleration without too much of a tradeoff in terms of fuel economy.

If running costs are more important to you, then the 184hp 2.0-litre diesel engine out of the previous-generation Volkswagen Golf GTD is also available. You could see up to around 50mpg if you drive one of these carefully.

Used Audi TT S line features and equipment

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what kit you’ll get on your used Audi TT S line because Audi updated the car many times throughout its time on sale.

The TT was, however, one of the first models to get a digital instrument cluster that’s fully customisable with mapping and other features, so look for a third-generation model if this is important to you.

As a rule of thumb, some of the newest used models come with keyless go, cruise control, rear parking sensors, LED headlights and heated seats.

Where the TT S line sits in the Audi range

Given that this is a sports car, Audi sold a lot of high-spec S line models, which means you should be able to find yourself a good deal.

The only trim level beneath S line is Sport, meaning that there are no entry-level SE or Technik models as you’d expect in other Audi models.

There are plenty of higher trim levels, though, including Vorsprung, Black Edition and the aptly named Final Edition, which went on sale in 2023 to mark the end of the TT’s production.
