SE is the cheapest model you can buy when it comes to the BMW 3 Series, but because it’s marketed as a premium and luxurious option, it’s hardly short on equipment.

You can buy a number of different generations of BMW 3 Series SE, including the seventh-generation G20 car introduced in 2018, though it was removed as part of a mid-life update.

A BMW 3 Series SE for sale is a smart-looking car with plenty of features and superb petrol and diesel engine options, so unless you need the latest and greatest, it’s a model well worth considering.

What are the BMW 3 Series SE specs?

Engine choice depends on which generation you pick, but generally, most buyers go for a 2.0-litre engine for its excellent blend of performance and economy.

Petrol power comes in the form of a 184hp engine, badged 318i, and it’s a good punchy option for anyone spending most of their time around town.

Long-distance drivers may want to consider one of the diesels – either the 150hp 318d or the 190hp 320d. Some newer cars also get mild hybrid technology to reduce emissions.

Used BMW 3 Series SE features and equipment

What you’ll get depends on lot on the model year you pick, but as a guide, the latest G20 cars built from 2018 include things like adaptive LED headlights, automatic lights and wipers, and cruise control.

Other staples include three-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and a really impressive touchscreen infotainment system.

There are also lots of optional extras to add, such as a powered boot lid, keyless entry, a heated steering wheel, heated seats and a head-up display.

Where the 3 Series SE sits in the BMW range
