KAROQ
Use our Help Me Choose tool to go from 1000s of cars to just a handful of recommendations — and cinch your search.
Start nowThe Skoda Karoq arrived in 2017 to replace the very popular Yeti and now forms part of the brand’s strong SUV and crossover lineup.
Its design is heavily influenced by the larger Kodiaq model, giving it a lot of road presence, and a 2022 facelift added more style to the mix.
Being part of the Volkswagen Group, it benefits from a range of highly efficient petrol and diesel engines.
You can also choose a smooth dual-clutch automatic transmission, and some higher-powered cars come with four-wheel drive.
Popular Skoda Karoq trims
Like all other Skodas, the Karoq gets a wide range of trims, allowing you to pick the model that best suits your needs.
> Skoda Karoq SE Drive – entry-level trim with 17-inch alloy wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a Virtual Cockpit
> Skoda Karoq SE L – mid-spec with the above plus larger 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and a rear parking camera
> Skoda Karoq SportLine – adds a sporty look with black accents, revised front and rear bumpers, sports seats and Matrix LED headlights
Skoda Karoq history
Skoda launched the Karoq in 2017 and, for the most part, it’s remained the same bar a few light changes.
> First-generation Skoda Karoq (2017-2021) – replacing the much-loved Yeti, this new crossover SUV appealed to a wider audience, sitting below the larger Kodiaq
>First-generation Skoda Karoq facelift (2021-present) – added a restyled front and rear, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, three-zone automatic climate control and adaptive suspension
Inside, the Karoq features a very inviting interior – not too dissimilar to the one you’d find in a Volkswagen Golf or Tiguan. It's simple yet effective and looks really smart.
Most come with a large eight-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Further back, you'll notice there's ample room for three in the back, plus plane-style tray tables sturdy enough for both picnics and laptops.
The Karoq’s boot measures an impressive 521 litres, which expands to 1,630 litres when the rear seats are folded flat.
Skoda is renowned for building quality cars, and the fact it shares parts with other VW, SEAT and Audi models is further testament to this.
Stick to a front-wheel-drive model and you’ll be pleased with any of the petrol or diesel engines, which offer similar levels of efficiency to smaller hatchbacks.
Skoda Karoq cars for sale with 4x4 systems are pricier to run, but compared to bigger 4x4s, they’re great value.
A mid-sized family SUV, a used Skoda Karoq for sale is an excellent all-rounder for families with kids, pets or active hobbies.
It seems to tick all the boxes, including quality, comfort and value for money.
Rivals include the Kia Sportage, Nissan Qashqai and VW Tiguan.
Only the 1.5-litre petrol Sportline model comes equipped with four-wheel drive. The rest come with front-wheel drive only.
The Karoq can tow a surprising amount considering its size. This ranges across the model line-up, but it can tow between 1,200kg and 2,100kg.
We think the Karoq is a great family car because of how good its Yeti predecessor was. Not only is it spacious, but it's also economical and offers low running costs, along with high levels of safety and reliability.
All models of the Karoq come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink as standard.
