What features does the BMW X1 have?

A used BMW X1 is packed with industry-leading technology. 

Newer entry-level models like the X1 SE get navigation as standard, as well as an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.    

Cloth seats come as standard, but these can be upgraded to M Sport-style seats along with interior mood lighting and leather or wood options.   

The highest trim in the range is the X1 M Sport, and this gets extra touches like aluminium interior trim and M Aerodynamic exterior styling.   

In terms of practicality and space, the X1 is phenomenal. It has the same footprint as the much smaller 1 Series, but because it's taller, it can fit more in it.   

A BMW X1 for sale's boot is 505 litres in size, which can grow to 1,550 litres when the rear seats are folded down.    

For passengers, there's a good amount of space, with loads of room in the back for taller occupants.    

Is the BMW X1 reliable?

How much does the BMW X1 cost to run?

The X1 is well known for its excellent handling and solid engine options – this is one of the many reasons why it's so good as a step up from the smaller 1 Series hatchback. Fortunately, it also has reasonable running costs. 

This premium SUV is powered by either a petrol, hybrid or diesel engine.   

The hybrid system produces 220hp and offers up to 32 miles of electric-only range. It’s a top choice for improving your fuel efficiency and can be charged overnight using a home wall box charger. 

The diesel engine on offer is a 2.0-litre unit that produces 190hp and is the better choice if you are going to do longer journeys.   

However, there are also 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre petrol engines on offer that produce 136hp and 178hp respectively.   

Who is the BMW X1 suitable for?

A used BMW X1 is great for those who need the added space for family life or just want a small SUV with the extra boot space for the occasional trip away.

This makes it very versatile, and it feels much more like a hatchback than an SUV. 

It closely rivals the Jaguar E-PACE, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Volvo XC40, but with that added BMW sportiness.
