Start nowCitroen never seems to miss a beat.
Its cars are always winning awards for looks and features, so why wouldn’t you consider one?
Citroen is a very important brand to the automotive industry. Not only is it one of the oldest car companies, it also created the world’s first mass-produced, front-wheel-drive car – the Traction Avant.
In 2021, Citroen moved under the Stellantis umbrella to join Peugeot, Jeep, Fiat and more, which has strengthened the business and made it easier to share components.
Now, Citroen makes a large range of different cars, from hatchbacks and crossovers to vans and MPVs.
For decades, Citroen has been a pioneer in car interiors, exteriors and suspension.
This can be seen via its air cushion technology on the side of its Cactus cars and through the suspension seen on older models that made Rolls-Royces look like tractors.
Our favourite advancements, however, can be found in the cabin, where you’ll find simplistic design language and oodles of tech features.
These include Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, heated seats and 360-degree parking cameras.
But the features don’t stop there, because all modern used Citroen cars offer impressive safety systems.
Some you may find include blind spot warning, lane change assist, parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat points and lane departure warning.
These all helped modern used Citroens score highly on their most recent Euro NCAP crash tests.
Thanks to its connection with Stellantis, Citroen can use parts from other brands such as Fiat and Jeep, which in turn makes its cars more reliable.
The same can be said for the engines, which have been tried and tested across many other models.
You can even buy fully electric Citroen used cars such as the e-C4 X, which offers 260 miles of range and greater reliability because it doesn't have a complicated engine with hundreds of moving parts.
But no matter which powertrain you get, all used Citroen cars will be cost-effective to run, which is most important to many of its customers and prospective buyers.
You should buy a used Citroen if you’re in the market for a solid family vehicle that’s fun to drive, efficient and practical.
They’re also affordable for the most part, and the cost can be spread out via car finance to make it even easier to buy one.
There are many used Citroen cars for sale, which can make your decision a little trickier, but if you want something smaller, then you should consider the C3 or C4 (or even smaller Ami). For most people, one of the larger crossover SUVs will do nicely, namely the C4 X, C5 Aircross and C5 X.
As a brand, Citroen scores well on reliability surveys, and models receive impressive safety ratings from Euro NCAP. Parts for Citroen models are known to be easy to get hold of and relatively cheap, so any maintenance will usually be reasonable.
You can get a used Citroen on finance but the costs and monthly repayments will depend on the model you choose and the type of car finance you go for.

Citroen has produced some excellent cars over many decades, and offers impressive levels of interior quality and some great engine/electric motor options.
In the grand scheme of things, we’re not sure you can call Citroen a luxury brand, but when compared to its rivals, you wouldn’t be wrong in calling it high-end.
If you want a really luxurious Citroen, then you might prefer a DS model.
Citroen is from France and was founded in 1919 by André-Gustave Citroën.
