Start nowThe Kia XCeed is only available as a compact SUV. As the name suggests, it is loosely based on the Kia Ceed, and also shares parts with the Kia ProCeed.
Popular Kia XCeed trims
Kia’s trim levels make a lot of sense – there are a few numerically ordered options, plus a couple of sportier-looking variants.
> Kia XCeed ‘3’ - Sitting above entry-level ‘2’, you key keyless start, rear parking sensors, heated seats and steering wheel and dual-zone climate control
> Kia XCeed GT-Line - Similar in terms of equipment to ‘3’ but with sportier details such as tinted windows
> Kia XCeed GT-Line S - Top-spec model with part-leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats and JBL sound system
Kia XCeed history
There have been three generations of the regular Ceed, but the Kia XCeed belong to the latest third-generation family.
> Kia XCeed (2019) - High-quality, understated hatchback-based crossover launched alongside the new Ceed family
> Facelifted Kia XCeed (2022) - Minor styling revisions and upgrades to car technology options
Every used Kia XCeed for sale comes with alloy wheels, LED headlights, a reversing camera, keyless entry, air-conditioning and cruise control.
Cheaper models have a sizeable eight-inch touchscreen, but higher-spec models have a bigger 10.25-inch display. All have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
It might not be Kia’s most popular model, but because it’s built using many of the Ceed’s parts, any used Kia XCeed will benefit from tried and tested mechanics.
Kia also backs its cars, including a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty with any used XCeed.
Over the years, the Kia XCeed has been available with a 1.0-litre and a 1.4-litre petrol engine (which was later replaced by the 1.5-litre unit). Expect around 40-50mpg from these, depending on your driving style.
Used Kia XCeed buyers should also consider the 1.6-litre plug-in hybrid option, which is the same unit used in the Ioniq. This should be able to exceed 60mpg in most circumstances.
If you’re after something a bit taller and more rugged, whether you’re the adventurous type or are just fed up with low-slung seats, then a Kia XCeed for sale is well worth considering for its understated yet high-quality finish.
If you're after a rugged-looking hatchback, consider the Ford Focus Active. If a crossover is more your style, compare the Xceed aginst rivals like the Volkswagen T-Roc and Toyota C-HR.
Because it’s not an obvious choice, the Kia XCeed isn’t particularly expensive compared to other hatchbacks and compact SUVs.t’s still a Kia, so it’s built to a high standard and comes with more kit than many of its competitors, making it worthy of your consideration.
No, the Kia XCeed is significantly smaller than the Sportage, both inside and out. In fact, its dimensions are much more similar to a hatchback, like the Ceed.
The main difference between a Kia XCeed and a Kia Ceed is styling, with the XCeed looking more rugged. Under the bonnet, they’re pretty similar.
Some other rugged-looking hatchbacks include the Citroen C4 Cactus and Ford Focus Active, but it’s also worth considering slightly taller crossovers like the Toyota C-HR and Volkswagen T-Roc for an experience closer to a true SUV.
Kia markets the XCeed as a crossover model, but it’s only around 3-4cm taller than the regular Ceed. It drives more like a hatchback than an SUV, which is a good thing.
