MG ZS EV history
The MG ZS EV first came out in 2019, after it was first shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China the previous year.
Since then, MG has seen great successes with it as it continues to dominate the affordable electric SUV market.
> MG ZS EV first generation (2019-2021)
> MG ZS EV facelift (2021-present)
A used MG ZS EV is available in three different trims, all offering extensive levels of comfort and onboard technology.
The standout features include a 360-degree parking camera, heated seats, a wireless smartphone charging pad.
Vehicle-to-load charging also allows you to power anything from the car’s charging port including toasters, laptops and even other electric cars.
Other clever features around the ZS EV include its attentive adaptive cruise control, which is great for motorway journeys, and its sound system which is punchy enough for all your tunes.
Being a modern electric car, there’s very little to go wrong. A used MG ZS EV is one of the best family SUVs you can buy, especially since it hasn’t got a complex engine that could be prone to occasional trouble.
It’s a safe car too, scoring a full five stars following its most recent Euro NCAP safety tests.
Charging costs for a used MG ZS EV will vary massively depending on where you charge it.
If you use a home wall box charger, it’ll cost you around 8p/kWh, but use a public fast charger and it could be more like 80p/kWh.
Then there’s the purchase price. It was X brand new but you can find great deals on a used ZS EV.
You should consider buying a used MG ZS EV if you want an affordable electric family car with a good range, great tech and practicality.
If you’re considering a Hyundai Kona Electric, BYD Atto 3 or Kia Niro EV, the MG ZS EV is a great option.
The MG ZS EV has an official range of up to 273 miles, but this will be slightly less in the real world.
MG has been making great cars for a few years, and its move into EVs has only excelled this.
MG stands for ‘Morris Garages’. The founder, Cecil Kimber, named it to impress his boss at the time, William Morris.
It's cheaper to use a slower overnight charger at home (around 8p/kWh) but if you need a quick boost while on the road, a more expensive fast charger (around 80p/kWh) is the way to go.
Yes, absolutely. In fact, they’re often more reliable than their petrol or diesel cars because they have fewer moving parts.
