Start nowThere’s only one version of the Peugeot e-208, but different trim configurations are available. It launched in 2019, and has had a few updates along the way.
Popular Peugeot e-208 trims
Thankfully, you’re not limited to buying top-spec models, because you can buy an e-208 version of any petrol-powered 208 trim level.
> Peugeot e-208 Active - Entry-level model with LED headlights, rear parking sensors and a touchscreen infotainment system
> Peugeot e-208 Allure - High-spec variant with added front parking sensors and a suite of stylish upgrades
> Peugeot e-208 GT - Sporty-looking high-spec model with 3D-effect instrument cluster, sport front seats and a reversing camera
Peugeot e-208 history
Although there have been two generations of regular 208 (and many predecessors), the e-208 is still a fairly new addition.
> Peugeot e-208 (2019) - Based on the second-generation 208, electric power was added in 2019
> Facelifted Peugeot e-208 (2023) - Better standard equipment, redesigned front end and new EV option (bigger battery and more powerful motor)
Even entry-level models come with a seven-inch touchscreen (10 inches from 2023 onwards) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Rear parking sensors are also standard across the range, but you can get front parking sensors and a reversing camera on higher trim levels.
Sporty GT models offer cosmetic upgrades such as more aggressive styling, a bigger touchscreen and a 3D-effect instrument cluster.
The Peugeot e-208 shares parts with other Vauxhall, Citroen and DS cars, plus its electric motor uses fewer moving parts than a conventional engine, so there’s less to go wrong.
There’s a three-year vehicle warranty, and the Peugeot e-208’s battery also gets a separate eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
How much you pay for electricity varies by provider and whether you’re at home or using a public charging point. Electric cars do still tend to be a lot cheaper to run than petrol and diesel models.
Depending on the configuration, a used Peugeot e-208 for sale will be around insurance groups 26-31.
A used Peugeot e-208 for sale carries a lot of appeal, making it a great choice for solo drivers, growing families with younger children and even retirees.
Even in its most basic configuration, it stacks up well against rivals like the Vauxhall Corsa-e (which later became the Vauxhall Corsa Electric), Renault Zoe and the newer BYD Dolphin.
The Peugeot e-208 uses the common CCS connector for rapid charging – supporting 100kW for an 80% charge in around 30 minutes.
If you’re charging at home or out and about at supermarkets or public car parks, you’ll likely be using the slower 7kW connection, which will take around 7.5 hours.
Some models have the optional 11kW charging support, which is handy at some public chargers, but most houses don’t support this speed.
Consider the Peugeot e-208 if you want a stylish and comfortable electric car but don’t want to sacrifice range or value.
Models fitted with the 50kWh battery have a claimed range of 211-225 miles, with 51kWh versions capable of up to 248 miles.
Electric car range depends a lot on various external factors, so bank on a real-world range of around 150-200 miles and you’ll be fine.
The Peugeot e-208 is usually around £30,000 brand new. Top-spec variants can cost more than £35,000.
A used Peugeot e-208 for sale will be a lot cheaper, even though they’re only a few years old. Early 2019-2020 cars are often under £15,000 – half the price of a new one.
