Start nowThe VW Tiguan Allspace will be very familiar to anyone who’s already driven a Tiguan. The only key changes are in the back, where there’s a bigger boot and two third-row seats that fold up and down.
Popular Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace trims
There have been a few different trim levels for the Tiguan Allspace, but they’re more or less the same asin other VW models.
> Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life - entry-level car with large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control and all-round parking sensors
> Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Elegance - mid-spec upgrade with reversing camera, matrix LED headlights, reversing camera and panoramic sunroof
> Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Design - sporty-looking pick with large alloys, aggressive body kit and ambient lighting
Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace history
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is based on the second-generation Tiguan sold between 2016-2024. VW’s Allspace variant wasn’t renewed for the third-generation Tiguan, but the ‘Tayron’ is expected to replace it in 2025.
> Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace (2021) - longer version of the Tiguan with more versatility and an equally impressive cabin
Every used Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has adaptive cruise control, three-zone climate control and front and rear parking sensors.
You also get plenty of tech, like LED headlights, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, plus a digital instrument cluster behind the wheel.
Higher-spec cars get upgraded lighting, with matrix LED headlights and a lightbar running across the grille. You also get keyless entry, a powered boot lid and a reversing camera.
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is generally considered reliable, with a solid reputation for build quality and robust engineering.
It shares many of its parts with the Tiguan and other VW models, so it’s tried and tested despite the car’s relatively short time on sale.
It’s a big seven-seater SUV, so the Tiguan Allspace will cost more to run than your typical family hatchback. That being said, many of the diesels can exceed 40mpg with mixed driving, and even the petrols are pretty economical.
The Tiguan already has a lot of appeal, but the Tiguan Allspace makes more sense for those who occasionally need to carry a couple of extra passengers or fancy the extra boot space.
If you're in need of seven seats, consider the Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento or Mercedes GLB.
Up front, both models are identical. The only difference between a Tiguan and a Tiguan Allspace is the extra length, which means you get two extra seats and a bigger boot in the Allspace model.
The Tiguan Allspace wasn’t renewed when VW launched the third-generation Tiguan in 2024. It was later confirmed that a VW Tayron will replace the Tiguan Allspace, likely in 2025.
Yes, every used Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace model has seven seats. The two rearmost seats are pretty tight, so they’re best used for children.
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is 242mm longer than the regular Tiguan, but both are the same height and width.
There’s a 700-litre space behind the middle row of seats in the Tiguan Allspace, compared with 520-615 litres in the regular Tiguan, depending on the position of its sliding seats.
With all seats up, the Tiguan Allspace has a 230-litre boot, which is a touch smaller than that of the Up.
